Reflective Blog Post

http://ashleysaylorsblog.blogspot.com/2015/04/oh-yeah-audrey-beginning.html

I chose to examine this post about Oh, yeah Audrey! from my blog because I think I added a variety of literary elements.  I chose to give a short summary to get the reader interested, but I also told my favorite elements of how the book is written. I like how I brought up the chapter layout because that is a huge part of how you understand the story. I also said that the book is recently written. This doesn't seem like an important element, but it is actually one of the most important because to read a book and be interested in a book you need to be able to relate to the book, and feel apart of it. Mentioning things like Netflix, iphones, and modern day NYC really helped me relate to what the characters were doing and feel apart of the story which is exactly as an author want you want.

Fahrenheit 451 thoughts

If i had to rank Farenheit 451, I'd give it a 3/5 because it is well written, but I don't like the plot. I don't think the book is written about an interesting topic. While reading F451 I couldn't believe the technology Ray Bradberry predicted. This book was copy righted in  1951 when they barely had colored tv's and he predicted things like the ear piece, and the parler walls which I guess we could call giant flat screen tv's. Bradberry may have predicted many things correctly but he also forgot to predict the biggest piece of technology the smart phone! It's unbelievable that he could guess society so right over 60 years ago.
The theme I had for the book was cencership causes indivisual thought and through part 3 so far I have seen that quite frequently like when Montag is in the woods and he sees the foresters using fire a different way than hes ever seen it's because the government has had so much control that every citizen has no knowledge and is clueless. Another thing I've seen that represents this theme is during the chase, they knew they had to end it because people don't have long enough attention spands to watch it.

Oh, yeah Audrey! Beginning

So far I love this book, it has been hard to put it down. I really like Audrey Hepburn and this has a unique point of view on one of her movies and her. So far the book started so far with Gemma coming into NYC from Phillie on a train in a spir of the moment trip to meet fellow Audrey Hepburn bloggers. Her story is turing out to be like the movie breakfast at tiffany's which Audrey is the star of. They both ran away, ended up in NYC, and ended up at Tiffany's.

I like how Tucker Shaw used a unique way of sorting chapters. To me it looks like the book is set during one day and each chapter is 30 minute intervals. I like this because you really get an in depth look at her day instead of a summary. I also enjoy that the book was recently wrote and I can connect to it that way. Things like iphones and netflix were mentioned which made the book much easier to relate to. Overall, I'm excited to keep reading this book.

Oh Yeah, Audrey book

I chose to read Oh Yeah, Audrey. I am a big fan of Audrey Hepburn's work and this looks to be an interesting perspective. The summary says its about a Audrey Hepburn Blogger who travels to NYC to meet her other co bloggers and they have quite the breakfast at tiffany's experience. From what i've read it's very good and i'm really excited to start it.

Satire

The Onion article on fastfood

(It wouldn't let me post a picture of the article' so here is the link)

The purpose of the article Fast Food Customers Less Appealing Than In Commercial is to point out the flaw on all commercials. Commercials always try to show the best looking people, instead of the whole customer base. The article is  Horatian satire because it is supposed to be light hearted and witty, not serious. The article is just for a laugh, but also makes a reasonable point.

Krista Ramsey - TY Hilton Post

Krista: T.Y. Hilton is good player, great dad, was about how Indianapolis Colt, T.Y. Hilton is a great player and father. Hilton dedicated his touchdown to his new born daughter and after he scored he cradled the football in his hands. Hilton had been up all night taking care of his new born and was so proud and open about being a father. Hilton balances work and family well, He played to provide for his family, what a role model he is. In the article Krista wrote "But it was Hilton's vulnerability, his heart-on-his-sleeve love for his daughter, that made a nation of boisterous football fans stop their partying and take notice." In this quote Ramsey shows both diction and syntax. she uses unique uncommon words like boisterous and heart-on-his-sleeve. Using these words puts depth into the piece. In the quote Ramsey also uses lots of commas to add unique sentence structure and make the sentence feel longer than it actually is.  Ramsey likes to state her opinion by giving real world topics and evidence , she also uses persuasion. In the first story she say "You see it all the time" already persuading and relating to you. In the second story she said "If we need insperation" also relating to the reader. In the story about T.Y. Hilton she stated her opinion saying "A father of two sons who loves his first daughter that much sets a standard for how to treat women." Three questions I would give Ms. Ramsey if I could is how do you find the inspiration for your pieces? How do balance writing about so many different topics compared to a normal columnist who per say only writes about sports? and Why do you do what you do?

Krista:T.Y. Hilton is a good player, great dad

Veronica Mars

I am reading Veronica Mars: The thousand dollar tan line by Rob Thomas. A quick summary of the book so far is Veronica Mars, a PI in Neptune, California has been put on a case. The case is about 3 girls who are on spring break in Neptune and go to a party. 2/3 girls go back to the motel that night and wake up the next morning. The next morning they see their friend Melanie hasn't returned, they try to get ahold of her but there is no reply. Melanie's is reported missing and her family hires Veronica on the case. So far Veronica has investigated Melanie's friends and some people from the party, But the track is still cold on where Melanie is.

What I really like about this book is that the chapters really separate the different thoughts well. I also like that this book is a mystery. I like mysteries because you never know what is going to happen and it keeps you drawn into the book. So far I love this book and I'd suggest it to anyone.
