The Fault In Our Stars

The Fault in our stars
John Green

It seems like everyone has seen/ or read  the "Fault In Our Stars".  Since I'm behind the game I figured I better start right and read the book. Everyone has been wanting me to read it, so I decided too! So far I'm on chapter one, so I can't really say much about it. I've read many reviews and they all rave about it.

What I like about the book so far-
The author is straightforward in his writing. What I mean by straight forward is for example it says "Depression is not a side effect of cancer. Depression is a side effect of dying." To me this quote seems like the author is being more truthful with the reader, I like that because there is no deception or lies. John Green also has great diction in my opinion. Green uses words like episcopal (of a bishop or bishops), veritable (used as an intensifier, often to qualify a metaphor) and meager (lacking in quanity or quality). I think using words like this really makes it interesting to read. So far it's a great book.

I finally finished If I Stay!

If I Stay... :Finished Opinion
I didn't know if I would like if I stay. So many people have mixed opinions on the book. I've heard every thing from " worst book ever " to " best. book. ever. written. hands. down." I decided to see what everyone was raving about and read it. I have to say I really enjoyed the book but I didn't think it was fantastic or anything, but I also didn't think it was horrible. I would suggest reading it because the author does a lot of good things to get you hooooooked.

A short summary of the book is Mia, the main character, is in a car crash with her family. During the crash both her mother and father die. After the crash Mia thinks shes alive but then spots her body and doesn't  know what's going on, how could she be looking at her body. She doesn't know what's going on she knows she still has to be alive or something because they transport her body to the hospital and she follows the ambulance. Throughout the book Mia has flash backs of the best moments of her life and stays around the hospital near her body. You will have to read the book if you want to find out what really happened to Mia.
